Harry Geffert

Harry Geffert lives and works in Crowley, Texas. He received a B.S. from Southwest Texas State University and a M.A. from New Mexico Highlands University. He taught sculpture for many years at TCU in Fort Worth, Texas.

In the '80's he retired from teaching and opened Green Mountain Foundry, which became the best known and respected foundry in the state. besides his own work, he cast work for most of the influential artists in Texas such as James Surls, Joseph Havel, Frances Bagley, Ken Little, and Linda Ridgway. Mr. Geffert's work has been shown throughout Texas in solo and group exhibitions including the Dallas Museum of Art, the Kimbell Art Museum, the Fort Worth Art Museum, Galveston Art Center, Tyler Art Museum, Dallas Visual Art Center, Moody Gallery, and Pillsbury and Peters Fine Art Gallery. He received an NEA Artist's Fellowship Grant in 1990 and the prestigious Legend Award from Dallas Visual Art Center in 1998 for his profound influence on Texas art.

Harry Geffert is represented by Pillsbury and Peters Fine Art Gallery in Dallas and Moody Gallery in Houston.
