"This piece is meant to exist on different levels. First, it is a group of whimsical ravens that inspires one to smile when you see them move. Secondly, I see this as a study in social interaction, whether it be a group of birds or people. The inspiration comes from watching both the birds and people in their natural surroundings."

Joe Barrington

Joe Barrington lives and works in Throckmorton, Texas. He received a B.F.A. from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. During the '80's he returned to Midwestern as Adjunct Professor in sculpture.

Well known throughout the southwest, Barrington has received many commissions for public art projects. Recent ones include the Lake Ray Hubbard Transit Station for DART in Dallas; the Mesa Natural History Museum in Mesa, Arizona; the Rio Grande Zoo in Albuquerque, New Mexico; and the City of Stamford, Texas for its Centennial celebration. His work is included in private and public collections including the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the Old Jail Art Center in Albany, Texas.
