As a lifelong art collector, aesthetics and design play important roles in Craig Hall's personal and professional life. So much so, that a focus on art became the conceptual force that drove the design and master plan for his Hall Office Park development in Frisco. It was with this passion that Hall dedicated the front four acres at the park's entrance to showcase a significant collection of contemporary sculpture produced by artists living and working in Texas.

In order to ensure appropriate surroundings for these important Texas works of art, specialty contractors and craftsmen were retained to design unique spaces and pedestals on which to prominently display each piece. To enhance the experience, careful attention was placed on creating a beautiful surrounding environment, including lakes, fountains, lush landscaping, monuments and seating areas.

Hall's vision for the Texas Sculpture Garden is a continuation of his commitment to making art accessible to everyone, to encourage art education and to facilitate connections between artists and community. Working closely with curator Patricia Meadows, Hall carefully and personally selected 40 works now featured in this new and unique setting. Chosen as demonstrations of the excellence and diversity of both materials and styles from around the state, the Texas Sculpture Garden sculptures were produced by artists living in large cities such as Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin, and small rural areas such as Sanger, Bolivar and Ovilla.

Art is good for the soul; it nurtures the spirit and inspires the imagination. For much of my life I have appreciated art from all around the world and am fortunate to have assembled a diverse collection from countries including Africa, Central Europe, Australia, Asia and the Americas. From a wide range of art on display in our company's downtown office buildings in the early 1990s to a recent Joel Shapiro sculpture placed in front of the American Embassy in Vienna, making pieces from the collection available to the public has always been a personal priority.

The Texas Sculpture Garden takes this priority and related philosophy to a new and exciting level. We are proud to feature 40 significant pieces of art from many of the finest living contemporary sculptors in Texas all in one carefully designed, beautifully landscaped location.

Many have asked why this prime land in the development was not used as a gas station, a convenience store, or for some other revenue-producing purpose. And my answer is always the same - that was never an option. From our corporate headquarters location within Hall Office Park, I would rather see people enjoying a world class art display out my window. And I feel confident I am not alone. I know of no gas station that can touch your soul or move you to contemplate the meaning of one's existence.

I invite you, your friends, and your family to nurture your spirits and inspire your imaginations right here in Texas. Come enjoy the Texas Sculpture Garden with us.
